style="text-align: justify;">More New Year Changes!

Hi again!

We (that’s Sue and I) have been doing some brainstorming about what we can do to improve our selection so that you get the best from us that we can deliver, and get it efficiently as well. What we have come up with now is to move all the posts – past, present, and future – from Green Home MegaStore into the Practical Greenology site (this one) and put the Green Home MegaStore back to it’s original purpose: a Green Home Store for your use and enjoyment. It will also put Practical Greenology back where it belongs, as a first-class discussion forum for new and obscure environmental things that might otherwise go unnoticed. There may still be a few posts on GHMS, but the majority of the posts will be here – at Practical Greenology – in the future.

We will also clean up the stores and make the entire process more enjoyable for you while you’re shopping. In the somewhat more distant future, we hope to install our own products for sale in the store, in addition to the things we have from other places. We will try to keep the system as simple as possible for this as well, since there’s no reason to make anything more complicated than absolutely necessary!

Remember this theme?

By the way, did you know you can get to Practical Greenology two ways? Yes, it’s true. both http://practical-greenology.com and http://practicalgreenology.com end up at the same place. Handy in case you can’t remember whether there’s a hyphen in the name or not. ;-)

It will take us some time to get all the changes made, but we think you will enjoy having everything centralised in the future. The themes on the two sites will remain the same, except we’re trying to keep up with the changes to Suffusion (the new theme for Practical Greenology) that seem to be coming fast and furious!

New Year – New Look

Hello everybody!

The last part of last year just seems to have whistled by. We were very busy with making changes to our websites for the new FTC rules about transparency in advertising, and, in the process, we discovered a lot of other things that needed fixing or replacing or renovating. One of those is a fascinating new theme for our Practical Greenology.

This theme is called “Suffusion.” It’s a new WordPress theme, and it has more bells and whistles on it than any other WordPress theme I have run across. To give you an idea of its complexity, it normally takes me about 30-45 minutes to set up a new blog theme on an existing site, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. “Suffusion” took me roughly three hours just to go through all the options available to “tune” the blog! The result is a completely different look compared to both our original theme and also to the standard “Suffusion” theme, if there even is such a thing.

Something else new: we are also going to combine the Go Green – Save Green website into this one so that we can better concentrate our publishing efforts. This will also improve the look and feel of the new site here with its magazine-style theme.

Also…. I’ve been promising a new review of a major sustainable energy source for some time, and the time is ripe! The first of this series of articles should be published within the next two weeks – I have already started with the writing. As I’ve indicated in the past, the theory is not new, but the application and technology is modern, and that sets this system far apart from the traditional power generation sources în use today.

I’m sorry that it took so long to get the site back up and functioning, but I believe you will enjoy the difference right from the very start!

Thanks for looking in again,

Jimmy Craig
